Michael S. Coone, Gaston County Workforce Development Board Director, stated, “We are thrilled about the new location for the NCWorks Career Center at Loray Mill. We embrace the tradition of the textile industry that was at one time the backbone of Gaston County’s economy while providing citizens with the opportunity to develop skills and seek out current vocational opportunities within the community. The new location will increase visibility and accessibility to the public.”
“Loray Mill was home to textile jobs for many families in Gaston County in the 20th century,” said Ronne Grantham, NCWorks Regional Operations Director with the North Carolina Department of Commerce. “Today, it is a multi-use building with residential and commercial purposes. We’re excited to introduce jobseekers and employers to the new NCWorks Career Center-Gaston County located at Loray Mill, as we connect talent to jobs throughout the county.”
